KYKC 100.1 FM Broadcasts Ada Cougar Sports

Ada—If watching Ada High School Basketball in person is not possible, then tune in to KYKC 100.1 FM and catch the game as the Ada Cougars hit the courts this 2003/04 season.

Game coverage narrated by Mick Cowan and his post-game interviews.

KYKC’s coverage agreement with Cougar Sports Network (CSN) includes football and basketball and additional radio coverage for the state playoffs in baseball.

“KYKC is continuing to support our local teams and we’re proud to broadcast Cougar sports once again to our community,” says Mike Hall, station manager.

“We want everyone to have the chance to cheer on our athletes because they’re our children, neighbors and friends,” Hall says. Listeners can still get the excitement of the games, cheer for the team and always have comfort in listening to the “Voice of Cougars” Mick Cowan. Cowan’s coverage of Cougar sports spans a total of 18 years. “..and I hope I’ll be doing this for another 18 years,” Cowan says.

In addition to “live” radio coverage by KYKC on Friday nights, Cable One airs the games the following Sundays at 3:30 p.m. and again on Tuesday nights at 7 p.m.

KYKC also broadcast’s Cowan’s wrap-up of all Cougar teams on Monday and Friday
mornings at 7:50 a.m. and cuts from interviews and exciting game moments are produced and aired throughout the week by KYKC disc jockey’s Riche Kay, 6a-10a; David Wayne, 10a-3p; and Sam Jackson 3-7 p.

Continuing this year is Cowan’s “Blast from the Past” interviews recorded by Cable One during half-time. Cowan finds former Cougar players among the crowd and gets their take on the game and has a chance to take a trip down memory lane as they talk about past years playing for Ada High.
