It's that time once again; time for talented artists to prove what they're made of, for the 2009 Colgate Country Showdown!  The 28th Annual Colgate Country Showdown is coming to Ada!

100.1 KYKC Radio is hosting the 28th Annual Colgate Country Showdown, America's largest country music talent search, Saturday, July 11th at 2:00 pm at the Mix Dance Club.  Admission is free! 

The show will feature performers from Ada and surrounding communities, as well as other performers from Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Texas. 

In the past, the Colgate Country Showdown has brought such artists as Garth Brooks, Brad Paisley and Sara Evans to the forefront of the music scene. 

The winner of our local competition will progress to the State competition, in hopes of reaching the National Finals to compete for the $100,000.00 Grand prize in Nashville, TN. Approximately $200,000 in cash and prizes will be awarded nationwide! The National Final is televised as well!

Designed to find the most promising country music artist talent in the United States for the past twenty-eight years, the Colgate Country Showdown gives aspiring artists a chance to launch their professional careers.  Thousands of performers compete annually for the Country Showdown title. Question is, will that next perfomer be you?

All preliminary judging for the Ada, Oklahoma local competition will de done from recorded demos.  There will be no live preliminary performances.

Be sure to include Name, Age, Address, and Phone.  All demos must be received no later than midnight, June 13, 2009.

You may email demos of 2 songs you will perform in mp3 format to above email or mail a cd or cassette tape to above address.  While a back-up band will be available, all solo or non-band acts are strongly encouraged to provide recorded accompaniment music for their performance.

Our Ada contest will be held on Saturday July 11, 2009 at 2:00pm, at the Mix Dance Club, 11141 State Highway 99N, Ada, OK.  The venue will be available for limited rehearsal and sound checks from 10:00am to 1:00pm.
